OpenStreetMap and Mapillary

Thanks to the work of Florian Lainez on the new initiative called Trilib’ in the city of Paris, geolocated in OpenStreetMap and captured in Mapillary at the time, we have built a new theme, illustrated by the picture of each container. You can find it here: http://trilib.rudomap.xyz.

Why rudomap? Because the « rudologie »  (Garbology in english) is the study of modern refuse and trash.

To learn more about the methodology, go read his blog post (in french): http://florian.lainez.fr/le-jour-ou-jai-fait-les-poubelles/.

Technical points:

  • The ref:mapillary of the container picture has been set in OpenStreetMap,
  • The picture display in the popup is a mix of Markdown and dynamic values of OpenStreetMap: ![](https://d1cuyjsrcm0gby.cloudfront.net/{mapillary}/thumb-640.jpg)
